Bristol Old Vic / Bush
director: George Mann
composer & sound designer: Jon Nicholls
Originally premiered on BBC Radio 4 (for which Jon also created the music and sound design – listen to an extract here), Owen Sheers’ hugely powerful and emotive verse drama centres on the interlinked stories of three Bristol young men who join the army together.
Based on extensive interviews with service men and women, it was originally staged to devastating effect at the Bristol Old Vic and subsequently transferred to the Bush Theatre.
The production was nominated for an Olivier award, and Jon’s music / sound-score was nominated for Best Sound Design in the Off West-End Awards.
